Denny's tire issue , losing a valve stem on the outer tire sent him back late in the race(probably rubbed another car to cause this), and Carl Edwards had lost a valve in the engine. This nearly meant engine failure. Except the team overcame that trouble by taking the engine apart to get the valve head out of the cylinder and getting the car back out on track to gain points. Years ago you would have seen this as a DNF, but with the new rules it was a great call to save as many points as possible. No one last year or before would have ripped apart the engine to accomplish say... 5-10 points. They would have taken the DNF. New system makes them be more aggressive to getting back on the track if they have problems. Which doesn't usually give the fans anything to scream about, but it makes the points race tighten up that much more with all the pressure involved. This will, in time, make fans scream for their favorite driver to "get out there" instead of the DNF.

It could be a o2 sensor only faulting at a certain temp they're very delicate so slitest change can cause it to run like that try a new set of spark plugs to because my car did that before and we ran the computer on it couldn't find the problem ne where and it was a foweled plug or your coil pack could have went bad its hard to troubleshoot a vehicle without being by it I suggest taking it to someone and having it put on a scanner not a code reader like autozone has but a good computer scanner depends on the garage some might charge twenty bucks to check it but it is very accurate that will tell u if it is the o2 sensor and if ur o2 sensor os bad your check engine light will be on.

I think I would check out the EGR valve, in fact in a '95, I would clean up the EGR and the passageway into the block the the EGR is attached. There is usually a build up of carbon there so you might have to use an old screwdriver and hammer to chisel the crap out.

I think what you are removing is what Haynes calls the "collector" and I called the "plenum" when I had a similar engine in my 1984 300ZX. That part sits on top of the actual intake manifold. If yours is the same the throttle body comes up with the plenum, and lifting repeatedly on the throttle body with your hands should loosen it eventually.

Ford focus idles at 4500 rpms?

I just bought the car. I have had the MAF sensor checked changed the TPS the throttle body is closed like it is suppose to be. Throttle cable is not caught anywhere. Air filter is clean. I just can't figure out what is causing it. Although I'm not too sure where all of the vacuum lines are but I'm working on that with the help of my chiltons book. Any input would be appreciated.

Whats wrong with my car?

Ok, last month my car started acting funny. It would drive fine through the city, but as soon as I got on the expressway the RPM gauge would shoot up to 3-4000 RPM, buck/jerk then return to normal. It would only do that on the expressway, then it started to do it a little on the street, not the jerk/bucking part, just the RPM would go up. I got a transmission flush, that didn't help at all. So I took it to another shop, they pulled the code P1702, and said I need a new transmission. I don't think that I do, it changes gears just fine, no jerking of gears, no hard shifting. So I picked it up, brought it home, called the place where I got the fluid change, they picked it up, and said I need a transmission(I STILL DON'T THINK SO!!). The first place, they wanted $2200, and the place where I got the fluid change wanted $1600...money that I do not have at all, I can't even get a loan, so that's not going to happen. So, I finally took it to a guy who said it it the TPS sensor, he changed that, and now it's worse than ever! I know I will probably get some responses telling me that I need a new car, which I can't afford, and I will probably get some jerk calling me an idiot because I didn't listen to the 1st shop I took it to, but as long as I get an answer I don't care(besides I can always flag the jerks). Someone (with sense) please help. I have a 2000 Ford Contour 2.5L with 183K miles.

Can anyone help with a running problem I am having with my 1989 Firebird?

My Firebird (1989, V6, 2.8L) has had a running problem lately, and I can't figure out what it is. I've heard MAF, TPS, and EGR, to this point. The MAF was just fixed and it ran better, but was still not running well. It has been dying while idle if I do not rev the engine, even at red lights, and this includes idling rough. It does start back easily, though. It also will jerk while driving down the road, particularly going uphill and trying to maintain speed or speed up. (Note: I thought at one point it may be the transmission because of the jerking while accelerating, but I had that checked and the transmission is in great shape.) Does anyone have any ideas as to what could cause this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Okay so lately when my boyfriend and I have been going out, annoying stuff has been happening. One time we were waiting to cross a street and a car full of teenage guys (my boyfriend and I are both 18) was driving by and they yelled "is she your sister?". Another time, we were getting gas and two guys at the gas station (at a pump a few rows away) waved at us. They looked kind of familiar so I hesitantly waved back and glanced away. When I looked back at them, one was holding up his phone and pointed to it and then to me. After both these instances, I blushed and my boyfriend looked rather dejected and was really quiet for the next several minutes. I don't really get it though. Why do I get the stink eye from a Bible study group?

When I went to a church last fall for a turkey dinner, I noticed on their bulletin board that they were offering a Bible study. Since I am now retired, I was looking for something to do besides watch TV and surf the Internet. So I asked the pastor if the study was for church members only, or could anyone come. She said anyone was welcome. They meet one morning a week and I've been going to it since last November. We read a chapter, the discuss it with the pastor's guidance. I am familiar with the Bible, having read it through 5 times. If there a question at the study, I usually give the others that attend a chance to answer (the other attendees are senior woman), but more often than not, they just sit there and look uneasy, so then I chime in. Sometimes the pastor is so impressed with my answers that she writes them down what I say to use in her sermons, commenting that I am inspired (or something to that effect). However, when that happens, the other study members usually give me sidelong annoyed glances when I speak and especially if it impresses the pastor. Why should what I say bother them so?

How do I get over this unavaliable guy?

Well, I have been down this same road myself on more than one occasion and I am afraid that there is simply no remedy but the passage of time. Time heals all as it has been quite accurately stated and you simply have to face this fact and keep going forward with your life. Do the plug wires have to be hooked up a certain way on the distributer cap of a 1992 ford taurus?

The other day, I went to a fundraiser concert for my cousin who was in a car crash a couple of months ago. After the concert, my family and I met a woman who's son had played at the concert that evening. When she met me, she said, "So this is the famous Arianna!". My uncle and cousin had written a song about me, (the song title was my name), and apparently her son played/sang the song a lot. She started talking to us about him. She wanted for us to meet, so we went outside and talked with him. She introduced me to him and Viceversa; we exchanged glances and gave an awkward "Hi" and wave. She told him that I was the girl that the song was written about, and both her and my mom made a big deal about the song. We were both embarrassed; he had said to his mom "It's just a song" and I had given my mom one of my warning looks of: "Thanks, this is awkward/embarrassing." But I did find him pretty cute, and he kept looking at me. I caught him at one point, and held his eyes for a couple of seconds. My mom "requested" that he would sing the song at my other cousin's graduation party that was coming up, since she hadn't heard it since I was about 2yrs old (I'm almost 15 now). (He plays guitar). Why do they always get me to ride the worst horses?

At my riding school Im always given the horses that have an attitude or ones that get spooked easily. One horse named Gordon has been given to me every week for the past few months. He goes into the center of the arena even though i tried to get him to go the other way and i dont like using the whip often but im told to keep doing it. Gordon will try and buck me off him but my instructor just shouts at me to stay on. I do and eventually Gordon gives up and goes back into line. He's a big horse like a drought horse with furry feet except he's more slender cuase hes a cross breed. Im also given this horse that gets worked up and jittery when he has to get ready to canter and i have to walk him in a circle and then he just runs off and misses the jump hes supposed to go over. Im even given this huge black shire horse named Jack who hasan awful habit of biting and kicking other riders and horses and i have to wear high riding boots so he doestn bit my legs. Its very annoying and ive asked for a vreak and maybe the chance to rid a more docile horse but they refus and say im the only one who can handle the horses. Ive been riding since i was 3 (i used to ride shetlands with my dad beside me) and im 15 now but i still think im too young to be dealing with these horses. theyre huge guys and all muscular and bad tempered.

I have issues concerning my appearance?

Basically, i have a serious issue with my self-esteem and especially how i look. I've never really thought hard about it until recently but the thing is i have some serious issues and i want to know how to deal with them... I avoid my reflection everywhere except for the mirrors in my house and a few in other peoples houses and thats it!? And i wont look in a mirror if there is someone else being reflected too, and i wont look in the mirrors in school, in toilets, in strangers houses... Not sure why you think "horrifically bad" but I got the picture. The purpose of telling a story, be it fiction or non, is to communicate a thought or idea. I thought it was very descriptive of the details and created a scenario I could see in my head and almost experience with my senses. You gave enough detail but did not overdue it to the extent of boredom. When people read fiction they want the experience of feeling like they are there. Just keep finding descriptions of detail that triggers the readers senses. Like right now I am thinking of chocolate! I can see it, smell it and taste it though I have not even bought it yet:) Just keep in mind it is easier to make the reader experience something they have actually experienced. When it comes to something less common, pay special attention to the key details to make it come alive. Your little excerpt here scores an A+ in my book!!

LTR 450 issues can't figure it out Please Help?

I have 06 LTR 450 and have been trying to figure out this problem im having for 2 years. Here is what it does it will start and idle just fine sounds great no unusual noises then i start giving it gas and around half throttle it starts to cut out spitting and sputtering and if i give it all shes got it will die. It will do this even if it is sitting there in neutral. It has been sitting a while because i had gotten fed up with it and today i started messing with it again so i got it started and again idled just fine and once i got to half throttle started cutting out. But seems like now that it is warmed up it won't even start it tries to start but won't keep running. I have checked the valves for the right clearance and i got them within spec, i have put a new TPS sensor on it, And not any of that has helped And i don't want to take it to the dealer just for them to charge me anywhere from 500-1000 dollars to fix it. So if anyone has heard of this issue please help.

I have a 98 jeep Cherokee classic 4.0 that is acting up. When you begin to drive and pull out on the road it bogs down and kicks for 10-20 seconds then it runs fine. Also my gauges in the jeep don't act properly. Thermostat is all over the place and gas gauge isn't working well. The check engine light is on with code 0117 coolant temp sensor. I've replaced it twice. I've put a new cat/muffler, Changed out map sensor tps iac cleaned and still have this issue. Please help!

I've changed the catalatic converter and the o2 sensor because that was whatwas throwing the codes. Now there are no codes shown and I can't figure out if it is the iac, maf sensor, or tps if it has 1. It idles real low like 6 or 700 rpm even when u first start it on a cold start instead of idling high and gradually decreasing as it warms. Then once it is warmed up while driving u come to a stop and it slowly idles down until it stalls and its 5 spd not automatic. Thanx

On a Ducati Monster 696 what is the voltage output of the throttle position sensor with throttle manipulation?

When I back probe the orange signal wire at the TPS connector I have 299 MV. When the throttle is wide open I only have 318 MV. I have 5 volt reference and good ground at the connector. Most automotive TPS sensors have 1-5 volt range with throttle movement.... should it not be the same on my bike if I also have a 5 volt reference?

i went to a bookstore a few weeks ago and while walking over to look for a particular book, i felt someone looking at me. glancing up i saw one of the workers looking at me. he was very cute. i kept going because i really needed that book. later, while sitting on the phone, he walked by and we made eye contact for a while. he would walk by every now and then while i was sitting reading. when i left, he was by the door. My 99 Mustang GT 4.6L dies right after I start it?? 2?

Ok so my car starts up just fine but instantly dies.. Iv tested the EGR valve and the solenoid. My codes are saying the MAF is faulty but before I go spend $120 on one is this my problem??? Please help me what could it be. I was thinking TPS or timing is off but I just need to know like I said it has no trouble firing up but unless I'm giving it gas it'll just die. I tried to drive it and when I shift the RPMs fall quick and let's say Im in 4th going about 45-50mph and I just let off the gas pedal it'll jerk forward. Also it's backfiring bad when it is driving but like I said as soon as my foots off that gas pedal it's dead. What could it be??????? To answer a few questions.. The codes it last threw were P0401, P0455, P1100. I don't think it's the tps because it doesn't idle at all. It has no trouble starting up it just dies by the time my key comes back after starting.. It got crushed during the accident and so I went along with putting a new tps in. I've changed the maf sensor,the fuel pump, the tps sensor,crankshaft position sensor,the egr valve, spark plugs,spark plug wires,and the fuel filter but still does the same thing. The car runs okay at times and when it fails it won't gain speed when you press the gas pedal you have to press it for a while so it will work at times . It also backfires a little not a lot and not that loud either. I've also cleaned the throttle with carb cleaner. The scanner won't pick up the problem it will pick up the stuff i've replaced. Can my dog get rabies from a dead animal?

I was playing fetch with my yorkie this morning and the ball rolled down a hill behind our shed. I waited for my dog to come back to me with the ball but she didn't so I went to see what she was doing. I saw her rolling around on the ground (like she usually does when she finds something smelly) next to what looked like a dead squirrel or rabit. At the quick glance I took I saw it was rotting and opened up, not just laying dead. So if my dog came in contact with the insides of a wild animal, is there a chance she could get rabies? ALSO the inside of her lower left eyelid is red and puffy. this just came up today as far as I've seen. She always has sties and goobers in her eyes though. The vet has never mentioned anything about it at a check up. She has gotten this red puffy thing on her eye before but usually passes within a week or two. Hey, I'm a 5'8 goalie and was wondering what type/brand of pads you think are best for a smaller goalie. I am an unorthodox/hybrid style of goalie which I can compare most closely to Marty Brodeur. I know that there is no "best" pad or brand and that a lot of it is preference, I'm just looking for what other people think. I currently have two pairs of pads (1 pair I got two small and am currently selling), TPS R10 and Vaughn V4's (the small ones). The R 10's are 34 +1 and the Vaughns are 33. The TPS feel like they are more suited for strictly tall, butterfly goalies. The problem I have with both pairs is 1) The TPS are too stiff and as I said suit a taller goalie, and 2) the Vaughns feel a litle small barely covering my knees and I find it nearly impossible to cover my five-hole unless I do a narrow butterfly leaving open many more holes for a shooter to pick. I was thinking of looking into sherwood, Bauer, and the new warrior pads. What ideas do you guys have/ any tips as to what size and such I should try would be great.

On a Ducati Monster 696, what is the voltage output of the throttle position sensor with throttle movement?

When I back probe the orange signal wire at the TPS connector I have 299 MV. When the throttle is wide open I only have 318 MV. I have 5 volt reference and good ground at the connector. Most automotive TPS sensors have 1-5 volt range with throttle movement.... should it not be the same on my bike if I also have a 5 volt reference?

1992 honda civic help?

I just recently purchased a 1992 honda civic cx hatchback with the d15b7 engine..when i start it it idles at about 2500 rpm then gradually decreases when it decreases it starts to violently shake and lose power. I was wondering if a vacuum leak involving the fuel pressure regulator would cause this or if it would be the TPS sensor.. It seems to run a little better when i disconnect the vacuum line running from the throttle body to the fuel pressure regulator but idk as to how to diagnose the problem any help would be much appreciated

1998 S10 4.3 Vortec, 5 speed?

My truck has like a miss/jerking at cruising speed and light acceleration. It starts right up at any temp, idles fine, can rev it up in neutral no problems and works fine during harder acceleration while driving. At first I thought it was only when it was raining or damp but now happens always. I've replaced cap,rotor,wires,TPS,air and fuel filter...nothing helps. The only code I get is random misfire. i'm assuming it's not the fuel pump because it accelerates OK. Sure feels like something electrical. Don't know what else to check. Any ideas? Thanks.

very good, but after one read its seems more descriptive of her environment than of her character and when you have to start talking abt her character with "julia was an intuitive girl...." it seems very blunt and in complete contrast to the description of her environment which flows like water. you are very good at description of the surroundings, use that to bring out the character. the character development seems very blocky, merge it with the rest of the text. when u describe the grass or the bushes bring out her thoughts abt how she believes there are secrets hidden behind them, in them/it and how when the wind blew she wanted to follow it to see where it went to see perchance where it began,< this is just a crude example to describe her curious character, her determination, start it off smoothly, ease into the character. ( i hope this helps somehow, i would want to read further)

What is wrong with my 93 Silverado K1500 350ci, 5.7L engine?

I have a 1993 Chevy Silverado K1500 350ci, 5.7L engine. I haven't been able to get it to run since december. It has a brand new crate engine in it. It only has about 15k on it. All the things I've replaced since it started to act up. Throttle Position Sensor, MAP Sensor, EGR solenoid, Oxygen Sensor, Fuel Pump. It all started driving down the highway at 50 mph. Cruising along then it just shut down. Pulled over, vroom turned right over but was running as though it were on it's last drop of fuel. Inched my way to a gas station filled it up and it it ran absolutely terrible. Spit and sputter. First I replaced the map sensor and tps after reading my haynes manual. Ran just as bad. Then after I replaced the fuel pump it ran a tad better but not much. Took it to a guy he said my o2 reading was very low and never changed with throttle response. Changed that and it runs but still sputters before it shifts. It's really bad when you're trying to go up a hill. You can practicly hear it sputter in the TB like it were a carb not adjusted right. I've been dealing with this since december and I've stumped 3 mechanics so far. They just gave up and said idk what to do with your truck. My last resort is chevy but if someone could please just help that'd be awesome. Oh and now since the o2 sensor as soon as I hit 50 the truck is like a beast it goes up to 80 in no time flat. At high crusing speeds ypu would think nothing is wrong but as soon as you let out of the throttle you can just hear in the exhaust a different tone and a sput sput sputtering. Please help. i would say no something else is wrong,unless there maybe a timing warning but with those miles i doubt itcheck your basics,water oil etc check belt tensionsif alternater gives erradictcharge this can cause a fault code.check engine sensors,make sure all are plugged in ok.check vacuum lines for leaks.mainly over inlet manifold end as this is the hotter end of line which caused rubber to become brittle and splitcheck exhaust ,make sure no damage has occuredie crushing of pipe.check fuses with test light to be sure they are all ok.to do this find a good earth/ground for wire on test light,door hinge or ignition key if inside car and touch both sides of fuse to make sure fuse ok,under bonnet use neg battery terminal.if this doesnt show a problem i reccomend buying a workshop manuel .this should give step by step instructions and other fault finding tips good luck with it.dont let it beat you

if the idle air control sticks it usually will idle too fast once it warms up. you said you cleaned it? then before replacing it try cleaning the throttle body and check the air filter.

My 95 Grand Jeep Cherokee has a fuel/transmisson problem maybe?

My 95 Grand Jeep Cherokee losses throttle power after it has been run for about 15 to 20 mins. When I push the gas to the floor it shutters and shakes while I drive. I can pullover and turn it off and start it again and the problem will stop for a couple minutes but will return. I have already replaced the TPS and fuel filter. The second problem is when you drive the truck it feel like the overdrive is off. The cruise control will not engage as well since it has been doing this overdrive thing. 2000 Sonoma problems?

I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma with the 2.2L 4cyl, Manual tranny. The problem Im having is when the motor is cold it runs great, but once its warmed up and I try to drive it it runs like garbage. I have to rev the motor to about 2000 rpms to get it to go otherwise it will die, and take a minute to start back up. when driving down the road it will be going fine one minute then out of no where it will lose all power until I have the gas pedal all the way to the floor, sometimes I can smell gas and have been told when it acts up there is black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. The check engine codes I'm getting are System too rich bank 1, tps Sensor input voltage low (circuit A), and catalyst efficiency below threshold. I just put a brand new TPS sensor in. Anyone out there have any idea whats wrong with it? Or what do I need to do to figure it out? Thanks!!

Honestly, I would change the plugs and wires first. See if that helps, its part of a basic tune up and if the guy didn't take care of it, he probably didnt do basic maintenance.

You have an interesting start, but you're telling the story when what you want to do is show. I like the idea behind it, but I'd recommend creating scenes where this information comes out gradually. It's a lot to take in at once. One suggestion, interactions with other characters is so important. It's also a good idea to have a character actually doing something, perhaps talking to Nicole while thinking these things and how he has to hid his true identity from her. So much inner monologue is a bit tedious when I'm wondering what the tension is in the story. Give a hint right away of what the conflict is going to be about or you'll lose the reader. Also, use dialogue as a means of getting exposition out. It will make the characters much more interesting. A few suggestions on making it better - good luck!

Changing the tps sensor...?

First if check engine light on need to get computer trouble codes checked for any sensor problems. You could have an auto. trans problem, which also has computer. Other possibilities fuel filter needs replacing or intake plenum needs cleaning or possible vacuum leak. Also could have bad idle air control valve IAC. Suggest a Tech check it out for you so Unc. doesn't have you replacing parts you don't need, your wallet will get thin fast.Not trying to be a bummer but cars are now a lot more complicated with everything electronically controlled.

Mitsubishi Elipse not starting getting error code that MAP sensor circuit is bad and car wont start?

Changed the MAP sensor and TPS sensor and car still wont start. Car turns over and and will fire up but then die right away. After a few tries you can smell gas in the engine compartment. The MAP sensor appear to have voltage going to two of the wires as I believe it should, but the voltage doesn't look high enough on one of the leads. Any know what I should check next. Has had the tps changed, egr valve changed and gasket, the knock sensor, distributor, cap and rotor changed. Still the error code p0100 & p0325 show up and still has same problems. Any answers?

Having problems with a 1997 Ranger?

My Ranger is a 5 speed manual and keeps getting a code for a misfire #2 cylinder. It stalls on decel when pulling up to a light or stop sign. The condition is worse when cold. It has new plugs, wires, coils, timing belt, TPS, IAC, both emission control solenoids and all new vacuum lines. Fuel pressure has been checked and good. Fuel regulator is good. But each time the code is cleared it returns within 50n miles. Any suggestions??

My 98 Dodge Avenger ES is using a lot more fuel than usual, is hard to start and get to idle?

98 Dodge Avenger ES 6 cyl. with 150,000 miles...About a month or so ago, hubby did some normal maintenance on my car by changing plugs, wires, changed fluids, ran injection cleaner, etc. and my car has not been right since! The check engine light has not come on, but every time I start it, the starter takes longer than normal to engage, and it is really hard to get it to idle for about a minute...sometimes longer. I smell gas from the exhaust which more times than not is black, then when it will stay running it tries to die when i put it in reverse then again when I put it in drive.... but after that it runs good.....until i turn the key off again! We have changed the TPS, the cap and rotor, fuel filter,and the starter, (because it went out also!) Cant get it to throw a code! Any ideas?

Where is Throttle position sensor on eclipse gs?

Alright, so I have been having a ridiculous problem that has been PISSING me off. To start with, I am getting 70 psi from my fuel system (holy crap!) At an idle i should be at 38 psi. So...i did what anybody would do, i bought an adjustable fuel regulator and tried to fix the problem that way. Well i still have 70 psi. No matter what i do to adjust the regulator nothing changes. I put new plugs in, and it fired right up and will idle fine and will rev up fine as long as it is in neutral (for the most part, and may just be a coincidence). Once i start to drive it, it usually will go 100 feet and die. Now, the car won't start up right after it dies. I have to wait say? 5 minutes and it will fire up like it's new, go 25 feet sputter and die. My plugs are totally black by now. What i believe is happening. My fuel system is sending to much fuel to my rail and causing my plugs to become engulfed in fuel and once completely covered they can't get any spark and the car dies. So, a buddy who knows what he's doind recommend i get a new throttle position sensor, a real mechanic told me to pull the tps out and see if it fixes anything. I don't think it is going to fix my high fuel pressure but the one telling me to get a new tps is saying it will bring it down. Thing is, i dont even have to have the car running, if I prime the fuel pump twice it will already be at 70 psi. Can anybody help me? This has been 2 weeks of my life trying to fix this problem. I have tried everything i know and now it's time for some help. And does anyone know where the throttle position sensor is located? The car has a cold air intake and a full exhaust system.

No check engine light is coming on fuel filter new fuel pump,plugs wire cap rotor, spider injection, map,tps,crank,coolant temp, mass air is all new and it is still doing it also replaced bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 2 even ran it with the cats off and no change. My mustang dies right after I start it up?

Ok so my car starts up just fine but instantly dies.. Iv tested the EGR valve and the solenoid. My codes are saying the MAF is faulty but before I go spend $120 on one is this my problem??? 2002 toyota camry xle stalling?

Have an 02 camry xle 3.0 v6. installed a new 02 sensor today, faulty heater circuit. Disconnected the negative cable to clear the hard code set in the computer. Reconnected the negative cable and now the car will not idle. If I feather the throttle the car is fine and it drives fine otherwise but will instantly die if the car stops and idles. Having the A/C on fixes the problem as long as the compressor is running and there is a load on the engine. If you turn the A/C off, again the engine dies. Any thoughts? Also if I unplug the TPS, the car will idle fine though I get a check engine light and a VSC and Trac Off light. Plug the connector back in and the car dies but the lights go away. No engine lights on what so ever.

1998 Ford Explorer engine will not start?

A few weeks ago i bought a 1998 explorer 4.0L. The seller said the o2 sensors were bad, the rig ran very rough, but no engine light on. After my own test i found the TPS to be bad and replaced it. It ran much better and the check engine light came on, the next day it would not start. It's got spark fires on ether and dies. Noid test showed injectors not working. So i replaced the CPS and it ran for one day now will not start. Got 38 psi on fuel pressure. MAF is good. What am i missing? could the PCM be bad? Help

This is my junior year of college and my major is early childhood and special education which both colleges offer bachelor degrees for. You really need to go back to the basics. Perform a compression test to make sure that the engine does not have a mechanical issue that needs to be fixed. Low compression will give you these same results, a vacuum leak at the intake manifold can also cause this condition. A stuck or lazy O2 sensor can also cause strange conditions. Start at the beginning and see where it takes you.

What could be wrong with my trucks throttle or carburetor?

carburetor, or throttle body? You say it's a carburetor, but then mention changing the TPS, which is a fuel injection sensor. If it's a throttle body, i would suggest it's again something wrong with the TPS. Something else wrong, could be making the TPS fail. If it's a carb, could be something wrong with the accelerator pump, or off-idle fuel circuits. It may not be fuel related at all, could be spark related. I would take it to a shop, and have them hook it up to a lab scope, to see EXACTLY what is going on inside the cylinders.

Is a loose connection the cause of my jeep shutting off?

Try replacing that wire that plugs into the coil. If that doesn't work you may have a defective coil or you will have to find out why the coil is getting fried. Sometimes a vehicle will start up and run fine till the coil gets hot then shut down. And yes, a crappy coil can cause the problem you are having. You can usually feel it sputter when you give it throttle and feel the misfire. I would recheck the distributor and rotor, the gap in the plugs, and the spark plug wires. If you have a bad coil and improperly gapped plug there wont be enough juice to bridge the gap and make enough of a spark to ignite the fuel, hence the misfire.

i have an 84 fiero and i have an idleing problem when i start the car it idles fines it runs great for 10 to 15 minutes and then starts to idle low around 500 to 600 rpms in drive and 600 to 700 rpms in park and kinda goes up and down and also when it warms up i can here it cutting out a little but only when it warms up things i have replaced: spark plugs,ignition coil,ignition module tested ,tps, temp sensor, these things only happen when the car is warmed up any ideas? thanks for the help

Well for a project in Geometry we are supposed to be making a T.P.S model. Its a wooden dowel and a nail glued to the end. When we place to nail up to a touch blower it takes about 33 seconds to melt the glue and the nail to fall off. Our job is to build a outer shell to slow down the process of the heat reaching the nail and melting the glue. The nail is about 4 inches long and you cant touch the wooden dowel or glue anything to the TPS. What materials could I use that are heat resistant to keep the nail from melting the glue without going over the budget?

TPS replacement on Suzuki Reno?

I am needing to replace a TPS sensor on my 2007 Suzuki Reno. I was wondering if this sensor needed to be adjusted once installed. If so, I need the voltages for WOT and closed throttle if available. I Have read that the entire throttle body must be replaced but I feel this was a bit drastic and have found several places that just sell the sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do inline or piggyback programmers work?

I have an 03 G35, just purchased a jet vforce plus piggyback module. It only uses 6 leads total. One is for 12v, one for ground, one for O2 sensor signal, one for tps signal, and two for maf sensor. (MAF harness wire is cut and the two wires from the module simply splice in line and reconnect the loop.) with this set up, what parameters could the module change without going directly to the ECU? Does changing the maf readout really affect spark timing and fuel maps enough to get the hp gains that jet boasts about? (avg 12 hp gain)...

It'll run fine the first few miles then it hesitates extremely bad and rocks and makes noises after that. it feels like how a lawn mower sputters as its running out of gas. We've replaced the TPS and fuel filter and made sure it wasn't the catalytic converters. Its not showing a check engine light. Anyone else ever go through this and might know what it could be? 1998 Ford Explorer Engine Problems?

I just bought a 1998 ford explorer 4.0 engine. It ran rough, i knew the o2 sensors were bad and after my own check the TPS sensor was also bad and replaced it, neither sent a error code and the check engine light was never on. Now it wont start, it's got spark fires on ether and dies. Gas is pumping and got good pressure at the test port. With the key on i get power to both wires of each injector, is this right??? Is the PCM bad or is it something else i am not thinking of?? I pulled the plugs they look great, but no sign of gas at all, gas is there the injectors i believe are not working! Please help. Thanks

Could I have a possible bad EGR?!?

The car I'm working on is a 1993 Chevy Lumina 3.1. It has been idleing rough "up and down" and sometimes it will stall out and die. there has been a few occasions where it runs fine "kinda' Its high miles too. Sometimes driving it down the road it will just die. But I was curious if I have a possible bad egr. I checked my map sensor today with my Multimeter, checked the Air idle control valve and replaced the TPS with a another used one, new fuel filter, new ICM and coil packs. But I took my EGR off and its carbed up pretty bad. Sprayed it off with cleaner opened all there little ports and sprayed in there, reattached it, and no difference. But the thing is, I unhooked the wiring to my EGR from the ecm and it didnt effect a thing. Is it possible the selenoids on it are bad and causing it to be stuck. Im not familiar with EGR's and exactly how they work. So possibly stuck open or stuck closed idk. I even had the EGR un bolted set aside while still wired to the ecm and started the car, and none of the selenoids would fire so idk.
